Exhibition by Sarah Waschke
12. April @ 19:00
Sarah Waschke was bron in 1991, has been living in Bonn since 2012 and has studied art history at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wlhelms-Universität of Bonn. Since 2015 she deals with textiles as a medium. She produces embroideries, carpets and objects, which she often assembles into small environments.
The exhibition aimes to stimulate the vierwers visually and to let them dive into a world of fantasy and pleasure.
In her work, she deals with queerness, eroticism and intimacy as a fat femme. Sarah does not want to reproduce the medium of needlework as stereotypically feminine, but to use it as a feminist and activist means of self-determination. The artist shows her view of a feminine side of sex and eroticism, in which fat bodies are soft, pleasurable and sensual. But it is also about a self-caring view and taking oneself and one's sexual needs seriously.
On the 12th of April starting at 7 pm in the QZM the vernissage of the exhibition by Sarah Waschke will take place. The exhibition can be viewed during the regular opening hours after that.
You can find Sarah Waschke on her Webseite oder Instagram.
