Liebe Alle,
der April macht, was er will – zumindest wettertechnisch – und das QZM macht weiter große Schritte hin zu einem Zentrum für die Community in Mannheim und der Rhein-Neckar-Region. Wie gewohnt berichten wir hier von den Entwicklungen zum Neubau, Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten bei der Nutzung der Übergangsimmobilie und den geplanten Veranstaltungen.
QZM Immobilie
Die unermüdliche Immobiliensuche der letzten 15 Monate haben uns gezeigt, dass die Anforderungen, die wir an ein Gebäude stellen kaum in einem Bestandsgebäude umzusetzen sind.
Deswegen wird die Realisierung des QZM in einem Neubau angestrebt, welcher dann barrierefrei, nachhaltig und perfekt auf die Bedürfnisse abgestimmt gebaut werden kann und damit eine tolle Chance für die Community und Mannheim bietet.
Um diese Pläne in die Tat umzusetzen kooperieren wir mit einem Mannheimer Projektentwickler, der unsere Pläne unterstützt.
Um die konkrete Bauplanung und dann auch den Bau beginnen zu können, ist es wichtig, möglichst schnell ein passendes Grundstück zu finden. Denn davon wird auch abhängen, wie groß die einzelnen Module wie Café, Gruppenräume oder Wohneinheiten sein können.
Die wichtigsten Faktoren für ein Grundstück sind Standort (zentral, gut erreichbar/angebunden, sicher) und Größe (ab ca. 1.000 qm). Mögliche Optionen sind Kauf, Erbpacht und Miete des Grundstücks.
Zur Grundstückssuche sind wir im Gespräch mit der Stadt, gleichzeitig versuchen wir durch die Öffentlichkeit Tipps und Informationen zu Grundstücken in anderen Besitzverhältnissen zu sammeln – wenn ihr etwas wisst oder hört, meldet euch bitte bei uns!
Übergangsimmobilie
Um mit dem QZM aber bereits in der Zwischenzeit auf dem Weg zum Neubau loszulegen, starten wir ab Juni in einer tollen Immobilie in G7. Dort sind nur kleine Umbauarbeiten nötig: die Vergrößerung des WCs im Erdgeschoss, um es barrierearm nutzbar zu machen, und der Einbau einer Schiebetür für die Innentreppe, die beide Stockwerke verbindet.
Viele Einrichtungsgegenstände, wie eine Theke mit Kühlschränken oder auch eine Kaffeemaschine, können wir übernehmen und sofort benutzen.
Wie die Räume optimal von verschiedenen Gruppen genutzt werden können, welche Veranstaltungen stattfinden können und wie sich die Nutzung fair aufteilen lässt möchten wir mit euch gemeinsam im 4. Community-Workshop erarbeiten. Dieser wird am 12. Juni stattfinden, eine Einladung mit Einwahldaten folgt noch.
Damit ihr für den Workshop ein Gefühl für die Räume bekommen könnt, werden wir, je nach Infektionslage, im Vorfeld eine Videobegehung oder kurze Besichtigungen in abgestimmten Zeitfenstern durchführen.
Vereinsbeitritt und Mitgliederversammlung
Es ist soweit: In den kommenden Tagen werden wir die Beitrittsformulare zur Vereinsmitgliedschaft online stellen. Wir haben uns Mühe gegeben, es sowohl für die Ausfüllenden als auch für die Verarbeitung im Verein so unkompliziert wie möglich zu gestalten. Dazu folgt noch eine gesonderte Nachricht und wir laden alle in der Community herzlich ein, dem Verein beizutreten.
Die Mitgliederversammlung wird am Sonntag, den 6.Juni stattfinden, aller Voraussicht nach online. Hier wird unter anderem auch die Beitragsordnung und damit die Höhe der Mitgliedsbeiträge beschlossen. Bis dahin dürft ihr gerne eine kleine Spende hinterlassen.
Veranstaltungen
Im April fand eine neue Ausgabe der Generationsgespräche statt, diesmal mit Antje Ippensen als Vertreterin der Generation X.
Außerdem befinden wir uns mitten in der Themenwoche Regenbogenfamilie, die anlässlich des Internationalen Regenbogenfamilientags am 02.Mai von QZM zusammen mit ILSE Rhein-Neckar und PLUS Rhein-Neckar veranstaltet wird.
Bereits stattgefunden hat ein Stream der italienischen Komödie ‚Mom&Mom‘ und ein Infovortrag zu den äußeren und inneren Hürden auf dem Kinderwunschweg für Regenbogenfamilien.
Und es geht genauso interessant weiter:
Am 01.05. wird Cora Hansen den Workshop ‚Welcome Baby‘ zum Weg vom Kinderwunsch bis zur Familiengründung halten. Hier geht es um die rechtliche Lage und den mentalen Umgang mit der oft belastenden Situation. Zu dem kostenlosen Workshop könnt ihr euch noch kurzfristig anmelden bei katrin.hofner[a]qzm-rn.de.
Am 02.05. laden wir zur Diskussionsrunde „Was brauchen Regenbogenfamilien? – Wunsch und Wirklichkeit“. Die Diskussionsrunde mit Katharina Binder(LSVD BW), Rebecca Rottler(BerTA Stuttgart), Jj Link (Landesnetzwerk LSBTTIQ BW), Ulli Biechele(PLUS Rhein-Neckar) und Matthias Kück(ILSE Rhein-Neckar) wird Einblick in die Vielfältigkeit von Regenbogenfamilien, die Arbeit der Beratungsstellen und die Struktur dahinter geben und die Frage diskutieren, wie die Beratung für Regenbogenfamilien landesweit ausgebaut werden kann.
Zum Abschluss veranstalten wir am 06.05. ein ‚QZM meets…‘ mit der Treffpunkt- Fach- und Beratungsstelle Regenbogenfamilien in München, die uns Einblicke in ihren Betrieb, die Beratungssituation und die Organisation geben werden. Die Themenwoche Regenbogenfamilie wird in Kooperation mit dem Netzwerk LSBTTIQ Baden-Württemberg und dem LSVD Baden-Württemberg veranstaltet und wird unterstützt durch die LSBTI-Beauftragung der Stadt Mannheim. Alle Veranstaltungen finden online über Zoom statt und sind kostenfrei.
Am 12.05. wird um 19:30 Uhr der nächste Technik Grundkurs stattfinden. Beim letzten Kurs zum Wechsel weg von Whatsapp gab es Bedarf nach einem Grundkurs speziell nur für den Messenger Signal, bevor wir alle QZM-Whatsappgruppen zu diesem Messenger umziehen. Die Nutzungsbedingungsänderung von Whatsapp, der Anlass zum Wechsel, tritt am 15.Mai in Kraft. Direkt davor können im Grundkurs also noch letzte Fragen zu Signal geklärt werden, damit wir uns in Gruppen weiterhin alle erreichen und unkompliziert abstimmen können.
Sonstiges
Das Queerfeministischen Kollektiv Heidelberg, Queer Youth Heidelberg und Frieda e.V. rufen anlässlich des IDAHOBIT dazu auf, eigene Erfahrungen mit Gewalt und Übergriffigkeit anonym einzureichen, als Audiodatei oder in Schriftform. Dear all,
April does whatever it wants—at least in terms of the weather—and the QZM continues to make great strides towards establishing a centre for the community in Mannheim and the Rhine-Neckar region. As usual, you can find out about any and all developments around the new building, the design prospects for our temporary property. and the events we have planned for the coming weeks.
QZM Building
Our unflagging search for real estate over the past 15 months has shown that it is unlikely that we will be able to accommodate the requirements we have for the centre in an existing building. As a result, we’re now seeking to establish the QZM in a new building: a building that will be accessible, sustainable, and perfectly tailored to our needs. A new building will therefore be a fantastic chance for the community and for Mannheim. To turn these plans into reality, we are cooperating with a project developer in Mannheim who supports our vision.
In order to start planning the specifics of the building and for the construction work to begin, it is important that we find a suitable plot of land, preferably as soon as possible. This is because each the size of each individual module (such as the café, group rooms, or residential units) is dependent on how large the plot will be. The most important factors for us are location (i.e., central, easily accessible/well-connected, secure) and size (from approximately 1000 m2). We can either buy, lease, or rent the space. We are currently in conversation with the city regarding this search, but are also looking for tips and information from the public regarding properties under various states of ownership. So if you know or hear something, please contact us!
Transitional Property
In the meantime, we will be setting up the QZM in a great property in G7 as of June. This space only requires a small amount of renovation work: the toilet on the ground floor needs to be made larger and accessible, and a sliding door will be installed in the internal staircase that connects the two floors. Many items of furniture are being passed down to us from the previous owners and will be available for immediate use, such as a counter with refrigerators and a coffee machine.
We’d like your input on how the rooms can be best used by different groups, which events can take place here, and how we can divide up usage of the space fairly. In order to get your opinions, we’re organising a 4th community workshop. This will take place on June 12th. An invitation with a Zoom access link will follow.
Pandemic permitting, we will also film the area or organise short visits in coordinated time windows so that you can get a feel for the various rooms. This will take place before the meeting.
Joining the QZM and Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The time has finally come: In the coming days, we will upload membership forms to our website. We have tried to make signing up as a member as uncomplicated as possible, both for those filling out the forms and those processing them. A separate message will follow shortly, and we cordially invite everyone in the community to officially join the association. Our general meeting will take place on Sunday 6th June, most likely online.
Among other things, we will use this meeting to decide on membership fee regulations, as well as what the fee will amount to. Until then, you are welcome to leave a small donation when signing up as a member.
Events
A new edition of our Generational Dialogues took place in April, this time with Antje Ippensen, who represented Generation X. We are also in the middle of our Rainbow Family themed week, which is being organised by QZM, ILSE Rhein-Neckar, and Plus Rhein-Neckar around the occasion of International Rainbow Family Day on May 2nd . We’ve already enjoyed a film evening in which we streamed the Italian comedy “Mom & Mom” and an informational lecture on the external and internal hurdles rainbow families may face on the path to fertility. And the events to come are just as interesting:
On May 1st, Cora Hansen will hold a workshop called “Welcome Baby,” in which participants will learn about the path from thinking about having children to starting a family. Cora will focus on the legal situation as well as how to mentally handle this often stressful situation. You can register at short notice for this free workshop by sending an email to katrin.hofner@qzm-rn.de.
On May 2nd, we’d like to invite you to the discussion panel “What do rainbow families need? From wishes to reality.” This discussion between Katharina Binder (LSVD BW), Rebecca Rottler (BerTA Stuttgart), Jj Link (Landesnetzwerk LSBTTIQ BW), Ulli Biechele (PLUS Rhein-Neckar) and Matthias Kück (ILSE Rhein-Neckar) will provide insight into the diversity of rainbow families, the work advice centres do, and the structures behind these centres. Panellists will discuss how advice for rainbow families can be expanded and provided nationwide.
To round our themed week off, on May 6th we’re running another “QZM meets…”, this time with the point-of-call specialist advice centre Rainbow Families, who are based in Munich. They will give us an insight into their operations, the current state of advice for rainbow families, and the organisation itself.
Our rainbow family themed week is organised in cooperation with the LSBTTIQ Baden-Württemberg network and the LSVD Baden-Württemberg, and is supported by the LGBTI commissioner of the city of Mannheim. All of our events take place online via Zoom and are free of charge.
On May 12th, our next Technology 101 course will take place at 7:30 pm. Our last course saw us learn how to switch away from Whatsapp. This time, we will specifically look at how to use the messenger app Signal, as we are planning to move all of our QZM Whatsapp groups to this platform. We are making this change before the new terms and conditions of Whatsapp come into force on May 15tyh. Any straggling questions about Signal will be answered in this Technology 101 course, so that we can continue to reach everyone in these groups and are able to coordinate with one another without any complications.
Miscellaneous
The Queer Feminist Collective Heidelberg (Queerfeministischeskollektiv Heidelberg), Queer Youth Heidelberg, and Frieda e.V. are looking for people to anonymously submit their experiences of violence and abuse, either as an audio file or in writing. These will be available to hear in Heidelberg old town on the occasion of IDAHOBIT. Submissions should be sent to info@queeres-netzwerk-hd.de by May 7th.
