Lesung: Amina Aminger liest aus „Identity & Dignity: How Walking Away Paralysed from Abuse Paved my Path of Soul-Discovery“

Am Freitag, den 08.03.2024 um 20 Uhr laden wir herzlich zu der Lesung von Amina Aminger ein, die ihr Buch „Identity & Dignity: How Walking Away Paralysed from Abuse Paved my Path of Soul-Discovery“ vorstellen wird.
Zum Feministischen Kampftag liest Amina aus ihrem Buch, das ihren Weg aus einer schweren Kindheit, geprägt von sexualisierter Gewalt, zu einem selbstbestimmten Leben in verschiedenen Ländern erzählt.
Amina wird in mehreren Abschnitten in englischer Originalsprache lesen, die Abschnitte werden konsekutiv auf Deutsch übersetzt. Im Anschluss gibt es eine offene Fragerunde, die ebenfalls übersetzt wird.
Infos zur Autorin: Amina Aminger wurde in der Wüste geboren und entdeckte mit der Zeit ihre Leidenschaft für das Meer. Sie ist die erste deutsche Weltmeisterin im Adaptive Surfing. Die Durchquerung der Wüste und die Herausforderung des Ozeans gaben ihr großes Selbstvertrauen und Verständnis für das Leben. Im Leben passiert nichts einfach so, der Schlüssel ist es, die Perspektive zu ändern, indem man weiß, dass das Glück nur einen Gedanken entfernt ist.
Mit ihrem Buch möchte sie anderen Kraft und Zuversicht geben. Sie hat sich in diesem Buch geöffnet, weil sie weiß, dass „Opfer“ sich normalerweise schämen, darüber zu sprechen, was mit ihnen geschehen ist. Aber dafür gibt es definitiv keinen Grund!

On Friday, March 8th at 8 pm we invite you to a reading by Amina Aminger, who will present her book “Identity & Dignity: How Walking Away Paralysed from Abuse Paved my Path of Soul-Discovery”.
For International Women’s Day Amina will read from her book, that tells of her path from a difficult childhood, marked by sexualised violence, to a self-determined life in various different countries.
Amina will read several excerpts from her novel in the English original, they will be translated into German afterwards. After the reading there will be an open round of questions, which will also be translated.
Information about the author: Amina Aminger was born in the desert and through time discovered her passion for the ocean. She is the first German World Champion in Adaptive Surfing. Traversing the desert and the challenge of the ocean gave her significant confidence and an understanding for life. Nothing happens just like that, the key to life is to change one’s perspective when one knows that happiness is just a thought away.
With her book she wants to give others strength and faith. She opened herself up in this book because she knows that “victims” usually feel shame about talking what has happened to them. But there is definitely no reason for that!
